Until this morning, I thought the idea of squeezing one’s own juice by hand was ludicrous. But with organic grapefruits taking over my kitchen (thanks to a 50 lb. order from Azure Standard last month), I decided it was time to start juicing them before they all spoil!
IT ONLY TAKES ONE MINUTE TO MAKE 1 CUP OF JUICE! Really, I timed it! (Doesn’t include washing/slicing the grapefruits).
Hm, not so bad after all! ! I did only make one cup of juice. But I’m making more tomorrow.
It’s not rocket science, but in case you’re curious how it’s done. . . Here’s the ‘recipe’. (Note; the fruit juices more easily if it is at room temperature rather than chilled.)
Wash 3 small grapefruits, and cut them in half. (1 or 2 large grapefruits would probably make an equal amount of juice.) Set a tiny sieve on your glass measuring cup or any other aparatus with a spout. Then ya squeeze the heck out of those grapefruits. Here’s an exciting action shot of the entire production.
