I accidentally made this my go-to organic paprika seasoning blend several months ago. I had thawed some chicken, and didn’t have much time to make dinner. I had originally planned to make Mimi’s Rotisserie- Style Chicken, but was running behind schedule.
I decided to compromise, and throw together a simple version of the seasoning blend I’d use for Mimi’s chicken. I grabbed some organic paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, mixed them together, and dumped a generous amount onto each piece of chicken before putting them in the oven.
The result exceeded my expectations. The chicken had a wonderfully crispy, flavorful skin. The kind of chicken skin you actually want to eat! And since the chicken was super-healthy, pastured chicken from a local farm we happily gobbled up the seasoned, crispy chicken skin!
Since then, this seasoning blend and chicken has become part of our weekly meal rotation. The seasoning works really well for fish fillets and pork roast too!
- 2 Tablespoons organic paprika
- 1 Tablespoon organic garlic powder or granules (granules add a nice texture to the seasoning)
- 1 Tablespoon Real Salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Combine. Makes just enough for 1 batch of meat (6-8 pieces or a whole chicken, fish, pork)
