Breakfast is served!
I’m trying to gradually phase out cold cereal from our breakfast menu. My kids love it, but I don’t like all the additives and the fact that it’s just not that nutritious! And I refuse to pay 5$ for a box of the high quality, preservative-free, organic stuff. Homemade granola shows up at our breakfast table sometimes, but definitely not as often as I would like. This make-your-own-meusli bar is a great way to eat delicious organic ‘cold cereal’ on a budget!
I just use whatever we have available in the pantry. Sometimes it’s just oats, raisins, cinnamon, and honey topped with rice or almond milk. Other times we have chia seeds, dried cherries, pepito, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, etc. . just depends on the week. (Hint; if you’re planning to do a blog post about it, wait until you have lots of toppings on hand so the pictures look cool!)
