Easiest Way To Cube A Butternut Squash


Call me presumptuous, but I really do think this is THE easiest way to cube a butternut squash!


I don’t claim to be an expert; just sharing what’s easiest for me.  I’ve tried my share of other methods (The Kitchn, etc. . .) , but I just find my own  to be  the easiest and I think you will too!


Step 1: Cut it in half. Do not cut off the ends! They are ‘handles’! easiest-way-to-cube-butternut-squash-halves

Step 2: Cut the skin off each half with a knife (haven’t had any success with veggie peelers). I don’t worry about cutting off too much of the veggie along with the skin.  When it comes to cubing a butternut squash, you’ve gotta pick your battles!


Step 3: NOW cut off the ends.


Step 4: Cut each piece in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds and guts.


Step 5: Cut each piece in strips and then cubes.


Step 6: Admire those beautiful, orange chunks!


Step 7: Eat them!

Not raw, silly. Cook them first. . . in one of these recipes!
